Sue Williams
Works by New York-based painter Sue Williams go on show at James Cohan Gallery this fall. Combining themes of gender politics and the body, issues touched on in her early paintings in particular extend to domestic violence, sexual abuse and sexism in society. Violent and colorful, they're pretty stunning. For her first Shanghai show, works on display span the late-1990s through to the present day, coinciding with Williams turning her attention to global political and environmental issues.
