'Figurines III’ comes from Tian Tian’s ‘Figurines’ series, and is a dance performance piece that fuses traditional Han and Tang dances with modern visions of urban society. The piece explores historical memory and contemporary expression. While focusing on the simple resurrection of dancing figurines wrested from tradition and culture, the directory explores the realm in which the “old fashioned” merges with “fashion”. Three performances from April 7 to April 9 at the Shanghai International Dance Center Grand Theater.
