This exhibition started by chance, it was born because bunch of friends just wanted to hang out and do something fun. JO. P's paintings have their own spirits and species living in them. It is impossible to predict what will come next. When JO.P first came to XIME, he saw the space was filled with many strange and exotic little things that had been brought in by the owner & friends of XIME from all around the world. The space is small but full of these interesting artefacts, like a toy box. This time, the box will put JO.P inside. Peng Jiuyu (JO.P) was born on January 20, 1995. He was forced to drop out of school to complete his studies abroad due to his poor grades and unpleasant behavior; he failed to complete his studies abroad, and returned to China with his Junior High School Diploma. Most of JO.P’s works draws inspiration from his surroundings, his subconscious and fantasy. He likes to use characters as key in building a fictional spiritual world.
