This exhibition is the largest special exhibition ever held by the Shanghai Museum. To accommodate the exhibition, the museum has renovated and opened three galleries on the first floor of its People's Square location. In a total exhibition space of 3,000 square meters, the exhibition combines narrative, artifact display, and digital technology to create a unique immersive viewing experience for visitors. The exhibition features 492 groups of 788 precious artifacts from different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization. These artifacts have been carefully selected from seven major Egyptian museums, including the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the Luxor Museum, and the Suez Museum, as well as the latest archaeological discoveries from the Saqqara area. Over 95% of these artifacts are being displayed in Asia for the first time, offering visitors an in-depth look into the world of ancient Egypt. This exhibition is currently one of the most popular in Shanghai, so it may be difficult to book tickets. It is recommended to visit after the summer, as the exhibition will run for 13 months.
