The Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, in collaboration with acclaimed director Zheng Dasheng, will showcase the neoclassical Kunqu opera "Song of the Lute Player." at MIFA 1862, a beautifully repurposed riverside shipyard that recently also hosted Lady M the Musical. The production will bring to life the poignant tale of Bai Juyi, the celebrated Tang Dynasty poet, and the lute-playing girl, capturing the enduring elegance and subtlety of 600 years of Kunqu opera tradition.
