Description

Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 arrives in Shanghai. Sung entirely in English, this through-sung musical adapts a section of War and Peace, placing audiences inside a glittering Moscow ballroom on the eve of history-changing events.

Synopsis

Set in Moscow in 1812 as Napoleon’s army approaches, the story unfolds during a winter aristocratic ball where celebration continues despite the looming crisis. Young and idealistic Natasha waits for her fiancé Andrei to return from the battlefield, until the charming Anatole enters her life and draws her into a dangerous secret affair that threatens to pull everyone into turmoil.

Pierre, a wealthy but spiritually lost young nobleman, watches from the sidelines. Trapped in a failed marriage and disillusioned with life, he questions the meaning of his era. As the night grows colder, Pierre moves from the edge of the revelry into the heart of the storm, where fate, love, and the future collide.

This Shanghai Grand Theatre concert version is performed entirely in English and created through an international collaboration, emphasizing the musical’s continuous, immersive structure with music, movement, and lighting woven together.
