Description

Formed in Wakefield in 2001 by brothers Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman, The Cribs built their reputation with a raw, restless take on British indie rock. Their music came out of the early-2000s UK guitar scene, but the band always kept a distinctly DIY character — scrappy guitars, sharp melodies, noisy live energy and songs that never sound overly polished.

About the Show

Tracks including “Hey Scenesters!”, “Mirror Kissers” and “Men’s Needs” helped establish The Cribs as a cult favourite in British indie, while later records pushed their sound in heavier and more experimental directions. Their history also includes an unlikely chapter with The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, who joined The Cribs as a full-time member from 2008 to 2011 and played on the album Ignore the Ignorant.

Now more than two decades into their career, The Cribs continue to tour and make new music without losing the rough-edged character that defined them from the beginning. Their latest album, Selling a Vibe, brings that approach into a new chapter, combining guitar-heavy rock, catchy songwriting and the band's trademark sense of urgency.

In 2026, The Cribs bring their catalogue — from their early indie classics to their latest material — to China for a live show that spans more than 25 years of the band's career.

About The Artists

The Cribs

The Cribs are a British indie rock band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, formed in 2001 by three brothers: Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman.

The band emerged from the UK's early-2000s guitar-rock scene with a deliberately DIY approach, building their following through constant touring and a string of energetic, rough-edged records. Their catalogue includes nine studio albums, from their early releases The Cribs and The New Fellas through Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever, Ignore the Ignorant, 24-7 Rock Star Shit and their 2026 album Selling a Vibe.

One of the more notable chapters in the band's history came when Johnny Marr joined The Cribs as a full-time member between 2008 and 2011. Marr played guitar on Ignore the Ignorant and toured with the band, adding an unexpected connection between one of Britain's most celebrated guitarists and The Cribs' distinctly DIY sound.

Why Go

The Cribs have spent more than 25 years doing things on their own terms, building a loyal following around noisy guitars, catchy songs and energetic live shows. For anyone who came up on the UK's 2000s indie-rock scene, this is a chance to hear songs such as “Hey Scenesters!”, “Mirror Kissers” and “Men's Needs” live, alongside material from their newer records.

For newer listeners, The Cribs offer a direct link to the British guitar-band era that produced some of the UK's most enduring indie music — from a band that has kept making records and playing shows long after that scene's original wave had passed.

The 2026 China tour brings together more than two decades of material, including songs from Selling a Vibe, for a live set from one of the UK's longest-running independent guitar bands.
