Pennsylvania-bred American Midwest emo band Algernon Cadwallader are widely considered ‘heroes of the emo revival’ - a band whose DIY ethos in the years of their first tenure in the late 2000s inspired a new generation of scrappy youths looking to make their mark. The band returned with their original lineup in 2022 - finding solace in the raw aesthetics of their sound - twinkling and clashing guitars, vocals burning out mics, and a visceral quality that hits just right. Their 2025 LP - Trying Not to Have a Thought - found them as pointed as ever - and since then they’ve been on the road, performing across the US and more.
