New York indie-pop duo Daisy the Great brings their distinctive blend of folk-inspired melodies, theatrical storytelling, and intricate vocal harmonies to Shanghai. Best known for their viral hit "The Record Player Song," the band has evolved into one of the most compelling voices in contemporary indie pop.

Daisy the Great is a Brooklyn-based indie-pop project formed by Kelley Dugan and Mina Walker, who met while studying acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Drawing from their background in performance, the duo combines theatrical storytelling with indie-pop songwriting. Their music balances bright melodies and playful arrangements with themes of growth, uncertainty, self-reflection, and human connection.
Their Shanghai performance will showcase music from across their career, including material from their latest album The Rubber Teeth Talk.
Dugan and Walker originally began writing songs together while developing a musical during their final years at university. As their collaboration grew, they realized the project had evolved beyond a single theatrical work and formed Daisy the Great.

Their debut album I'm Not Getting Any Taller was released in 2019 and introduced audiences to their distinctive songwriting style, built around layered harmonies, unconventional melodies, and emotionally candid lyrics.

The band's theatrical roots remain a defining part of their identity, often giving their songs the feeling of miniature stage productions unfolding through music.
Daisy the Great's music sits between indie pop, folk, and art-pop.

Their songs are characterized by intertwining vocal harmonies, playful melodies, and emotionally vulnerable songwriting. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Fiona Apple, David Bowie, The Sundays, Dirty Projectors, and Liz Phair, they have developed a sound that feels both intimate and theatrical.
Rather than offering escapism, their music often embraces uncertainty and emotional complexity, exploring the awkward and vulnerable moments that accompany growing up.
Daisy the Great stands out in today's indie-pop landscape because of the chemistry between its two songwriters and vocalists. Their music combines memorable melodies with thoughtful lyricism and distinctive harmonies, creating songs that feel both personal and cinematic.
For fans of indie pop, folk-inspired songwriting, and artists who blur the lines between music and storytelling, this is a chance to catch one of New York's most distinctive emerging bands live.
