About the Show

Assembly Hall is a dance-theatre hybrid work by Kidd Pivot, co-created by choreographer Crystal Pite and playwright Jonathon Young. The story follows a group of medieval re-enactors holding an annual meeting in a community hall, where they manage an event called “Quest Fest.”

As the meeting unfolds, the boundaries between performance and reality begin to break down. The narrative gradually shifts into a surreal space where imagined roles, historical fantasy, and present-day reality overlap, suggesting that something beyond the surface event is unfolding.

The production combines choreography, spoken text, and theatrical staging, using movement and language as intertwined storytelling tools.
