Sludge with a grunge spirit, Shenzhen’s DULL came out swinging in 2025 with their debut. Visceral, raw, and full of energy, their tracks begin as a pummeling assault and eventually (d)evolve into longer, sprawling explorations that sound almost improvised. They later returned this summer with their EP, History, Body, State, full of slow-burning, riff-heavy muddy jams that find singer Haifan Wen wailing mantras into the mic. Visceral and raw - the band is in the midst of a nationwide tour and will be supported by Shanghai’s own noise punk fanatics Moya and the doomy drone noise and ambient outfit OMNI II.
