Description

Opening on 14th June, the architecture exhibition Projecting Future Heritage: A Hong Kong Archive, Hong Kong’s 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale representation, arrives in Shanghai as a Roving Exhibition at Design Republic’s Manifesto Gallery. The show brings excerpts from the original Venice presentation, including a film documenting the full physical archive of public architectures, selected measured drawings and models, a large-scale installation adapted from the original tied-joint bamboo piece in Venice, and an archival shelf featuring ephemera and a model of the 2025 exhibition. The exhibition highlights overlooked everyday public architectures in Hong Kong built between the 1950s and 1990s, reflecting the era’s optimism in addressing density and climate challenges.
