42nd Street is a Broadway and West End classic that celebrates the golden age of musical theatre. This filmed version captures a full London West End performance recorded at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, featuring large-scale choreography, tap dance spectacle, and iconic musical numbers.

Set during the Great Depression, the story follows Peggy Sawyer, a young dancer from a small town who joins the chorus line of a Broadway production called Pretty Lady. When the lead actress is injured, Peggy unexpectedly gets her chance to step into the spotlight and rise to stardom within 36 hours.

The musical is based on the 1932 novel and its film adaptation, with music by Harry Warren, lyrics by Al Dubin and Johnny Mercer, and celebrated choreography originally created by Gower Champion and later adapted in the West End revival by Mark Bramble and Randy Skinner.

This screening offers audiences a chance to experience one of Broadway’s most iconic tap-dance musicals in its full West End scale production. With large ensemble choreography, classic show tunes, and high-energy staging, it captures the spirit of musical theatre’s golden era in a cinematic format.
