Good is a live HD screening of C.P. Taylor’s acclaimed play, exploring the moral compromises of a German professor during the rise of Nazism. David Tennant, known for Doctor Who and an Emmy winner, leads the cast in this reimagined West End production. The performance also features Elliot Levey and Sharon Small in supporting roles.

Good examines how an ordinary, intelligent man can become complicit in horrific events. The story follows John Halder, a liberal German university professor, as he gradually joins the Nazi movement and rationalizes actions that ultimately contribute to the Holocaust. This production is noted for its exploration of the “banality of evil” and remains a key text for reflecting on 20th-century European history.
This version is a revival directed by Olivier Award-winner Dominic Cooke, who previously directed the National Theatre production of Follies. It was filmed live at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London. All screenings are in HD and not live performances.
This HD screening offers the rare opportunity to see David Tennant return to the West End in a powerful performance of a key European text. Audiences can experience a dramatic exploration of morality, personal responsibility, and the historical rise of Nazism—all captured with the precision of a National Theatre live filming.
