Five artists — Feng Zhixuan, Huang Juan, Lin Jiaxuan, Shao Fengtian, and Yao Tiao — come together inside the former Lagena Primary School in Xintiandi, presenting works that turn attention toward the often-unseen structures behind how images, objects, and meaning are formed. Through sculpture, painting, installation, and material-based experiments, they work with wood, ceramics, found objects, digital imagery, and layered surfaces, focusing on fragments, residues, and processes rather than resolved forms. Across different practices, the works suggest systems that remain partially hidden yet constantly active, shaping perception through subtle dependencies, interruptions, and shifts in material logic. Set within the historic school building’s aging rooms and corridors, the presentation frames these underlying relations as something fluid and continuously in formation, rather than fixed or fully visible structures.
