Le Grand Tasting – Wine Tasting Festival by Bettane+Desseauve is a multi-level tasting experience in Shanghai, combining global wines, gourmet food, and interactive experiences. Visitors can explore wines from renowned vineyards, enjoy culinary pairings, and attend art and masterclasses.

About

The expo spans five floors of a cruise ship and offers a variety of themed experiences. Attendees can enjoy global wine and food tastings on the first two floors, participate in art exhibitions and masterclasses on the third floor, and try wine-based cocktails on the fourth floor. On May 30, the fourth-floor deck will host a stand-up comedy session, and on May 29, an evening DJ music wine party will take place during a two-hour Huangpu River cruise.

The event features over 300 selected wines from five major themes, representing both Old World and New World terroirs. Wines range from the elegance of Burgundy in France to the vibrant styles of Italy and Spain, and from New Zealand’s crisp fruit-forward wines to unique Chinese varietals.

Special diplomatic wines are highlighted, including:

• Great Wall Sanggan Winery Cabernet Sauvignon (used at the 2026 Trump state dinner in China)
• Changyu Collection Chardonnay (used at the 2017 Trump state dinner in China)

Non-alcoholic options are also available, such as the “Dragon Across the Seas” sparkling teas, blending traditional Chinese teas with sparkling elements for a refreshing summer drink.

Gourmet pairings enhance the tasting experience, featuring Iberian ham, aged cheeses, and NIBBO chocolates with unique flavor layers.

Collectible wine knives by Laguiole en Aubrac are available on-site at a discounted rate.

The fourth floor also offers a creative wine cocktail area with unique crossovers, such as sparkling wine cocktails, white and red wine cocktails, incorporating ingredients like fruit liqueurs, herbs, and tea infusions.

Finally, the Portuguese Cork Association will be present to showcase cork applications, including hands-on DIY workshops emphasizing sustainability and creativity.
