Alexander Kashpurin, winner of the 2026 Liszt Utrecht International Piano Competition, brings his first solo recital in China to Shanghai. The program includes Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux Op.39 and Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B minor. It’s a full evening focused on two major Romantic piano works.

On March 14, 2026, Alexander Kashpurin presents his first solo recital in China at the Cadillac·Shanghai Concert Hall, Main Hall. Shanghai serves as the first stop of his China tour.
At the 2026 Liszt Utrecht International Piano Competition, Kashpurin won both First Prize and the Audience Award. He initially appeared as a substitute candidate and advanced through the rounds to secure the top prize.
The Liszt Utrecht International Piano Competition is held every three years in Utrecht and is dedicated to the works of Franz Liszt.
For this recital, Kashpurin performs Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux, Op.39, followed by Franz Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B minor, S.178. The concert includes a 15-minute intermission.

Born in 1996 in St. Petersburg, Alexander Kashpurin studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory and graduated summa cum laude in 2019. He completed his postgraduate performance course in 2021, also with highest distinction. In 2021–2022, he was invited to study at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium.
His competition achievements include First Prize and Special Award at the Chopin Golden Ring International Competition in Slovenia, Grand Prix awards in 2017, First Prize at the International Čiurlionis Piano Competition (2019), First Prize at the Russian Music Piano Competition (2019), First Prize at Les Étoiles du Piano (France, 2021), and in 2026, First Prize and Audience Award at the Liszt Utrecht International Piano Competition.
In addition to performing as a soloist, he is active as a conductor. Since 2022, he has led his own orchestra, Infinitum, and recorded the album In Search of Eternity. Since 2025, he has served as a piano docent at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory.
