A Premium Venue Listing is an enhanced profile and visibility product within the SmartShanghai directory network. It helps venues present their business with richer content and improved exposure across SmartShanghai platforms.

A Premium Venue Listing is a listing and visibility service — not a performance-based advertising campaign. Traffic, leads, bookings, or sales are not guaranteed.

SmartShanghai provides a platform and visibility service, not guaranteed marketing results.

2. Where Your Listing Appears

Premium venue listings may appear across SmartShanghai platforms, including:

• SmartShanghai website
• iOS/Android app
• Mini Program
• Related discovery, recommendation or promotional modules

SmartShanghai may update layouts, ranking logic, filters, or display formats as part of ongoing platform improvements. Placement and display order are managed by SmartShanghai to maintain overall user experience.

3. Venue Information & Content

The venue is responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information, including but not limited to:

• business description
• images and media
• opening hours
• pricing information
• contact details

By submitting content, the venue confirms it has all necessary rights to use and publish this material.

SmartShanghai reserves the right to:

• edit formatting, wording, or structure for clarity or consistency
• request updates or corrections
• remove or reject content that violates laws, regulations, or platform standards

4. Included Features

A Premium Venue Listing may include, depending on the selected package:

• enhanced profile layout
• image gallery
• priority visibility within relevant sections
• categorization and tags
• analytics or performance insights
• eligibility for editorial consideration (not guaranteed)

Feature sets may evolve as SmartShanghai develops new functionality or improves the platform.

5. Editorial Independence

SmartShanghai maintains full editorial independence.

Purchasing a Premium Venue Listing does not guarantee editorial coverage, recommendations, or inclusion in articles or guides.

6. Visibility & Performance

Listing performance depends on many factors outside SmartShanghai’s control, including:

• market demand
• pricing and positioning
• competition
• seasonality
• customer preferences

SmartShanghai does not guarantee any specific number of views, leads, bookings, or business results.

Analytics provided are for reference only and may change as measurement methods evolve.

7. Placement, “Top Position” & Tier Rotation

SmartShanghai offers three visibility tiers for Premium Venue Listings:

• Standard (Tier 3)
• Enhanced (Tier 2)
• Priority (Tier 1)

These define visibility tiers, not fixed rank positions. If multiple venues are active in the same tier, their order is rotated and may appear random. For technical reasons, ordering is cached and may remain unchanged for periods of time (e.g. ~15 minutes or longer) before updating. No permanent position within a tier is guaranteed.

SmartShanghai may adjust rotation, caching duration, and display logic over time as part of platform improvements.

8. Editorial Support

Some Premium Venue Listing packages include Editorial Support.

Editorial Support means that during the active listing period, SmartShanghai will include the venue in at least one editorial format, such as a roundup, guide, or themed article published on the SmartShanghai platform.

Editorial Support does not include:

• a dedicated article about the venue
• guaranteed publication dates or placement
• client approval or control over editorial content
• guaranteed article length, positioning, or prominence relative to other venues

All editorial decisions — including format, topic, timing, structure, tone, and inclusion alongside other venues — remain entirely at SmartShanghai’s discretion.

Editorial content is created independently to serve readers and may include multiple venues or broader thematic coverage.

9. Listing Maintenance

Some Premium Venue Listing packages include Listing Maintenance.

Listing Maintenance is a support service where SmartShanghai assists with updating and maintaining a venue’s listing content. Communication may take place via WeChat, email, or other agreed channels, allowing venues to submit updates without using the online upload system.

SmartShanghai will make reasonable efforts to process updates within a normal working timeframe (typically 1–3 working days).

Listing Maintenance covers reasonable updates related to the venue listing, such as:

• basic information changes
• images and gallery updates
• opening hours or contact details
• relevant promotions or events connected to the venue

Listing Maintenance does not guarantee:

• publication of all submitted content
• immediate or real-time updates
• publication of irrelevant, duplicate, or unsuitable material
• editorial or promotional coverage beyond the listing itself

SmartShanghai reserves the right to determine whether submitted content is relevant, appropriate, or suitable for the platform.

10. Featured Editorial Article

Some Premium Venue Listing packages include one Featured Editorial Article.

This article is produced collaboratively between the venue and SmartShanghai. The venue may provide background information, ideas, images, and reference materials, and SmartShanghai may consult with the venue during the production process.

The Featured Editorial Article is published under SmartShanghai’s editorial standards and voice. SmartShanghai retains final decision-making authority over all editorial aspects of the article, including but not limited to:

• concept and structure
• writing style and tone
• text content and narrative direction
• visual selection and layout
• headline and article title

SmartShanghai may edit, adapt, or decline submitted materials as needed to ensure consistency with platform standards. 

The Featured Editorial Article:

• is created to fit SmartShanghai’s editorial format and audience
• may include references to other venues, trends, or context where relevant
• does not guarantee specific traffic, performance, or long-term homepage placement
• one reasonable revision round may be provided; additional revisions are at SmartShanghai’s discretion.

Publication timing will be mutually coordinated where possible but remains subject to editorial scheduling.

11. Email Marketing & Welcome Email Promotion

Some Premium Venue Listing packages include placement within SmartShanghai email communications, such as the Welcome Email Promo, which is sent to newly registered users and may contain curated recommendations and sponsored suggestions.

SmartShanghai will make reasonable efforts to ensure reliable delivery by using professional email infrastructure and standard best practices, including clean sending IPs and responsible sending policies.

However, email delivery cannot be guaranteed. Delivery and visibility may be affected by factors outside SmartShanghai’s control, including but not limited to:

• recipient spam filters or mailbox settings
• email provider policies
• user preferences or blocking rules
• technical filtering systems

For this reason, SmartShanghai does not guarantee delivery to every recipient, inbox placement, or specific open or click-through rates.

12. Technical Availability & Downtime

SmartShanghai operates using modern hosting and infrastructure but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability at all times.

If the platform is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond reasonable control, SmartShanghai will make reasonable efforts to restore service promptly.

If service downtime exceeds ten (10) consecutive days and the listing cannot be accessed from both inside and outside mainland China, SmartShanghai will either:

• extend the listing duration accordingly, or
• provide proportional compensation for the unused portion of the listing period.

13. Analytics & Reporting

Premium Venue Listings may include access to analytics dashboards or performance insights provided by SmartShanghai.

SmartShanghai aims to provide reporting that is transparent, fair, and as accurate as reasonably possible. Analytics are generated using built-in platform systems and industry-standard tools, including services such as Google Analytics and similar measurement technologies.

Reporting Limitations:

The venue understands and accepts that online analytics are estimates and may not represent exact real-world activity. Reporting accuracy can be affected by factors beyond SmartShanghai’s control, including but not limited to:

• automated or non-human traffic (e.g. bots)
• tracking discrepancies between different tools or platforms
• technical interruptions or tracking failures
• internet restrictions, third-party tool limitations, or browser privacy settings

For this reason:

• SmartShanghai does not guarantee the absolute accuracy or completeness of analytics data.
• Certain data may be adjusted, filtered, delayed, or withheld if SmartShanghai reasonably believes it to be misleading or distorted.
• Reports or dashboard data may occasionally be unavailable, incomplete, or temporarily interrupted due to technical issues.

Traffic statistics published by SmartShanghai (including media kits, sales materials, or promotional documents) represent good-faith reporting based on aggregated or averaged data over longer time periods. These figures are intended to provide general context and are not guarantees of future performance.

14. Payments & Listing Duration

Listings become active within 3 working days after payment is confirmed and once required materials have been provided (if applicable).

The listing duration is defined at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable once the listing goes live.

Failure to complete payment may result in suspension or removal of the listing.

15. Renewal & Package Updates

Premium listings may be renewed at the end of the listing period.

SmartShanghai reserves the right to adjust pricing, package structure, or included features over time. Any changes will apply to future renewal periods.

16. Content Ownership & Usage Rights

The venue retains ownership of all content it provides, including images, text, logos, and other materials.

By submitting content to SmartShanghai, the venue grants SmartShanghai a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, display, reproduce, and archive this content across SmartShanghai platforms for listing, discovery, editorial, promotional, and reference purposes.

This usage right remains valid even after the Premium Venue Listing expires or is no longer active for archival, discovery, and historical reference purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

SmartShanghai may continue to display venue content as part of historical listings, directory archives, editorial references, or platform search functionality.

17. Legal Compliance & Liability

The venue confirms that all content, claims, images, and promotional material comply with applicable laws and regulations.

The venue is solely responsible for any claims arising from its content or business activities.

SmartShanghai shall not be liable for losses resulting from listing performance or business outcomes.

18. Communication & Support

Support and communication related to the listing will be handled via the SmartShanghai account system, email, or other designated communication channels.

19. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, infrastructure failures, government actions, or similar unforeseen events.

20. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China.

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be submitted to the competent court in Shanghai.

21. Final Terms

These terms represent the full agreement regarding the Premium Venue Listing product and supersede any prior verbal or written discussions.

SmartShanghai may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the listing implies acceptance of the latest version.
