Located on the tranquil, tree-lined Tai'an Lu, Heyday is a small, intimate venue showcasing local jazz singers backed by an excellent house band. This place harks back to the glamorous days of 1920's and 30's Shanghai, with cocktails that riff on Shanghai's decadent jazz era, with names like Heaven Built on Hell, or Qi-pao. They have live music seven nights a week, starting around 9pm on weekdays and 9.30pm on weekends. Reservations are recommended as the place can fill up and it's not a standing room kinda place. Music is generally covers but sometimes the band does their own thing (in a great way) in between the classics. Some nights may have a cover.
