Shanghai's home for hard techno, hard groove, hard electro, and other heavy, hard, high bpm electronic music (occasionally even gabber). Now located in TX Huaihai, this club is a popular spot on weekends - the distinctly uncommercial sound and industrial vibe draw a dedicated crowd of kids dancing until very late. This newest incarnation of Abyss has a large main room with a good soundsystem as well as a smaller room for house and disco called The Pit (where entry is often free and sometimes they have drink deals before 11pm), as well as a restaurant. It's a comfortable and approachable space that's big enough to wander around. Entrance to the main club is usually at least 100rmb, depending on the party (they often have international bookings).
