M+ Mali is a small F&B hub located on Xikang Lu, featuring around ten restaurants, along with a few coffee shops. This site was formerly home to the century-old Chinese brand "Mali Paint Factory," where China's first bottle of colored paint was produced in 1919, and in 1982, it became the birthplace of China's first acrylic paint. It's a nice spot for hanging out with friends, with a lot of other spots nearby, cuz it's also very close to Kangding Lu, Yanping Lu, and Changde Lu. We visited on a weekday afternoon when it was quite empty—We're not sure how busy it gets at night or on weekends. However, we enjoyed the atmosphere, it features a few art installations and lovely greenery climbing up the building, creating a cozy vibe. There used to be a large art and lifestyle store called Mamafufu, which had interesting stuff, but it has closed, a real loss.
