The Shanghai Greenhouse at Expo Culture Park transforms the site of the former Shanggang Third Steel Factory into a stunning botanical attraction. Spanning approximately 22,000 square meters above ground and 40,000 square meters underground, the greenhouse features a unique cloud-like design. Please note: This is a popular attraction and booking ahead is recommended to avoid disappointment. Visitors can explore four main sections: a visitor center and three themed pavilions—Sand Mirage, Clouds Forest, and Clouds Canyons. Sand Mirage showcases drought-tolerant plants, including olive trees and giant cacti, while Clouds Forest is dedicated to tropical rainforest species like bodhi trees and staghorn ferns. Clouds Canyons focuses on tropical flowers, featuring traveler's palms and flame trees. The experience is enhanced by a variety of plants and aquatic life, including fish coexisting with underwater vegetation and artificial waterfalls. A suspended walkway offers panoramic views of the pavilions. Although some areas can feel warm, the space is well-ventilated. Tickets can be purchased through the official WeChat mini program "上海世博文化公园" (Shanghai Shi Bo Wen Hua Gong Yuan) for 98rmb for adults, with family options available. Dianping also sells tickets though weekend tickets may not be available there.
