    The six-story market is the place in Shanghai for all your photography needs, whether you're a novice or a pro. The first two floors are packed with shops selling big brand names, the other floors are good for second hand cameras, specialist equipment, accessories, repair services and foreign books on photography. Bargaining on new cameras is usually not possible.

    • "After visiting, one can only conclude that the Xing Guang Photography Equipment Centre exists to conveniently absorb all the rubbish photography gear from the rest of Shanghai and kept it from getting underfoot. That's the only reason I can think of for 6 whole floors of trash posing as photo and video gear.
      In terms of proportions, this place is 50% fake/knock off goods (including one charmingly labelled "Official Replica" Gitzo tripod), 30% old gear and 30% soul crushing disappointment. Yes that adds up to 110% but it was that kind of place.
      If you hate yourself and feel that you deserve psychological punishment then these six floors of despair will do the trick. The well adjusted should avoid."
