Heshers, this is your moment. One of their more delightful events of the year, Shanghai's beloved metal bar Inferno is hosting their glorious air guitar competition tonight with the city's greatest imaginary shredders melting imaginary faces, competing for real (imaginary) glory. Some great prizes up for grabs this year from Shanghai Tattoo and Monster Energy Drink, including an actual real life guitar.

It works like thus: Round 1 contestants play a song selection of their own choosing. Round 2 the contestants play a song selection chosen by Inferno. The song will not be announced beforehand. Contestants play alone; no props allowed. There is no dress code, but creativity is encouraged. The jury consists of independent judges applying a 6.0 grading system. Contestants will be judged on: technical merit, mime-manship, stage presence, and "overall airiness". SmartShanghai is honored to be on the judging panel this year.
