Giant Street Culture Expo INNERSECT Happening This Weekend

Dec 3, 2019 | 14:00 Tue
INNERSECT is back for the third time this coming weekend at SNIEC. What's INNERSECT, you ask? Don't ask around too much, lest you invite ridicule, derided as deeply, deeply unhip. Maybe brush up on your streetwear knowledge, grandpa. Founded by mighty streetwear icon Edison Chen in 2017, the INNERSECT expo has grown into a huge deal in China street fashion, worth visiting at least once even if you don’t know a damn thing about expensive sneakers or urban fashion trends. Info and ticket links after the jump.

INNERSECT 2019 is titled "EXPLORE THE INFINITY," following the hot trend of completely meaningless expo titles, but this year they've doubled their floor space to 20,000sqm. From December 6 to December 8, over 100 street fashion brands will be showcased, including hot HOT names like A-COLD-WALL*, Highsnobiety, and A60VE. A good number of highlights: Daniel Arsham working LIVE, New Media installation art created by Maxim Zhestkov, limited-edition INNERSECT crossover merchandise with Herschel Supply, Unity SKateborading, Medicom Toy and more.

A skateboard section called Lab Rat will offer skateboard class try-outs and other activities. Public talks about, I dunno, the streets will also be held throughout. Expect the place to be packed. Keep the map that comes with your ticket and pay attention to any hints printed on there: finish the game listed on the map for a little souvenir at the INNERSECT booth. One-day tickets start at 228rmb, available on their website here.
