Adult roleplay, my children. "Secret Cinema specializes in immersive theatrical experiences based on film and television, combining film screenings with interactive performances in purpose-built bespoke sets." Right, adult roleplay. Hours of grown-ups playing make believe in massive, custom-built environments, populated by dozens of actors mingling with hundreds of attendees, stunts, set piece performances, pyrotechnics, plus a screening of the movie it's all based on. In the past, the world-famous London outfit have brought Blade Runner, Dirty Dancing and Star Wars to life. This November, they're starting a four-month cycle based on Casino Royale. Secret Cinema tickets for the first month are already available on SmartTicket.

Secret Cinema, as the name suggests, is secretive AF. They've put on something like 70 productions, and video evidence of what actually happens inside is spotty. Strictly no phones allowed. They'll lock them in little sealed bags for you. It used to be they wouldn't even tell you what the movie was beforehand: they only started announcing it to avoid disappointment. Imagine expecting Blade Runner and getting Dirty Dancing.
For Casino Royale, they're assigning attendees a secret agent identity, complete with backstory and what not. You'll have to get dressed up. Details about your alias will be drip-fed via email and a custom web portal. How many people you've sent to a blacksite. How many tactical turtlenecks you own. How many politicians you've shot from a grassy knoll. On the day, attendees will take part in a 4+ hour "immersive interactive experience," with a screening of the movie.
Beyond that, they're providing no information about what it's going to entail. You could just read a review of the London show by The Independent, but this is Shanghai! We have the world's fastest elevator! We're used to more. Do they expect you to flip a car? Do they expect you to parkour off a crane? Do they expect you to talk? Who knows! It's all so secretive.
