Yesterday, Google Translate upgrade its Android and iOS app to version 5.8. The new Google Translate app added the Word Lens feature between English and Korean, but what's more important -- it can now be accessed in China without using a VPN. Google made the announcement on their China blog, written in both Chinese and English. It explains many potential things you can do with this tool, including Conversation Mode and offline translation. Although translate.google.cn has always been available (though a bit clumsy) to Chinese users, this is the first time in eight years that a Google app can be used in the mainland, with full access. You can upgrade your Google Translate app to the latest version or download it through Google Play / App Store, or download the apk directy from androidpolice.com. The future of being too lazy to learn Chinese is NOW.
