Holiday Travel Without Jet Lag, Obligations, or Aunt Martha

If you've opted out of long distance travel for the obligatory family holiday (or can't afford it *single tear*) here are some short reasonably priced trips worth checking out. The list includes weekend trips and longer getaways to cold places like Harbin and warm beaches in the Philippines -- because you're an adult now dammit so you'll decide what you do on December 25! From December 22-24, Wanna Travel is offering a trip to Guilin, to check out Longji terraces, bike in the countryside, and boat chill with mountain views. Trip includes transportation while in Guilin (but not the flight there), two nights accommodations, and a bike rental. Trip costs 1,700rmb more information and booking here.

Here's a way to spend Christmas Eve, alternating between 33 indoor and outdoor hot springs. Baths with milk, lavender, rose, red wine, ginseng, coffee. OK, Deal! Club is offering a winter trip to Harbin from December 29 to January 2 for skiing. Costs 3,980rmb per person, price includes 4 nights stay in both a hotel and hostel, local transport. Wanna Travel is offering a weekend trip to Qiyun Mountain for some hiking, temple in the rocks exploration, and hot spring soaking. The trip includes transportation by bus and accommodations for 2 nights. Runs from 9am December 30 to 9pm January 1, as a way to bring in the New Year. Trip costs 1,150rmb; register here.

Here's an okay deal from OK,Deal! Club, a 6-day trip to Bohol, in the Philippines. There'll be diving and beach chilling included as well a accommodations, but flights are not included. Runs from December 27 to January 1 and costs 2,380rmb per person. Check OK,Deal! Club's site for booking.

Here's another from OK, Deal! a trip to Yellow Mountain from December 30-January 1. Costs 1,290rmb per person, and includes transport and 2 nights accommodations as well as 4 meals. Traveler's Society is offering a Christmas-New Years Trip to Lijiang. Costs 6,699rmb for 2 people or 10,299rmb for 4 and includes a stay at Bivou, a "designer" guesthouse. .
