Shanghai loves it a good status symbol, and private members clubs love them some China, so it’s not that much of a surprise to hear that London-born “members’ club for young creatives” Soho House is going to land in Shanghai. This article quotes CEO Nick Jones as saying they are "opening in Lisbon, Paris, Penang, Rome, Shanghai, and many more in America." They are moving fast with Asian expansion, as Mumbai opened earlier this month and Hong Kong is scheduled for March. A lookbook floating around online suggests the Shanghai house will include the signature Cecconi’s restaurant and The Club. No date has been given, but considering they say they have narrowed site selection down to two properties in Shanghai, it seems to be a 2019 or 2020 opening.
