A couple of times a month (on the second and fourth Mondays) the Royal Asiatic Society holds a talk on some Sinotastic topic. This month they are hosting a DVD screening about the Great Leap Forward, followed by a discussion among RAS members. The DVD and discussion is followed by a dinner, for further discussion. 20rmb for RAS members, 50rmb for non-members.

"The Fall and Rise of China" is a course of lectures forming a part of the series; The Great Courses, publisher of college level courses taught by university professors. This series covers the modern history of China from 600AD to present day. Each lecture is approx. 30 minutes in length and will be followed by an hour (or longer) discussion afterwards, among the group. The Lecturer for this series is Professor Richard Baum.
