This is the first movie night from URBN hotel and Green Drinks China. The film on show is Food, Inc., which highlights some of the nasty issues going on with America's food industry. Popcorn will be in effect. Drink specials are go and a tree will be donated to the Roots and Shoots Million Tree project with the admission price: 35rmb.

Food, Inc. Synopsis:

Food, Inc. lifts the veil on the US food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of the government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. The food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment.

About the Million Tree Project:

Through the Million Tree Project (“MTP”), Shanghai R&S encourages individuals and organizations to firstly minimize their negative environmental impact by polluting less, and then improve their positive environmental impact by planting trees in the desertified lands of Inner Mongolia. The previously lush landscape of Kulun Qi, Inner Mongolia is now a rapidly expanding desert due to a combination of the greenhouse effect and irresponsible exploitation of the land such as overgrazing and over-farming.
