The Royal Asiatic Society presents a lecture by Hilary Spuring, winner of the Whitbread Book of the Year Award and the LA Times biography prize in 2005. Spuring will be discussing the role that Pearl Buck, had in influencing relations between China and the West. Pearl Buck was once an enemy under Mao and only now is she being recognized for her role in predicting China to become a 21st century superpower.
