Fans of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and all things shoegaze rejoice -- the second annual East Asia Shoegaze Festival is going down. Headliners are Japanese act The fin, with support from Shaoxing's City Flanker, Shanghai's Forsaken Autumn, RUBUR, Xiamen's The White Tulips, and HK's Thud. For those unfamiliar, shoegaze is a hazy, layered-guitar / pedal-heavy style of rock that got popular in the late '80s and early '90s. Unlike post-rock, there are lyrics, though they often get buried in the wall of sound created by the guitars. Tickets are 180rmb pre-sale or 200rmb at the door. Note: THIS SHOW STARTS AT 6.30pm AND WILL PROBABLY FINISH BEFORE MIDNIGHT.
