This Beijing roast duck restaurant is quite a big deal up in the big smoke. Celebrity chef / owner Dong Zhenxiang's proprietary roasting technique has earned the Da Dong a sterling reputation. But in spite of a voluminous tome of a menu, that's about all that Da Dong has going for it. Supplementary menu items are mostly contemporary takes on Beijing staples like Zhajing noodles or fried lamb cutlets, and the focus is more on presentation than on flavor. Go for the duck; avoid all of the other distractions. Reservations are tough to come by, so expect long waits.
