Difficult to find but rewarding French x Japanese bistro near Xujiahui, by chef Kenji Ishibashi. It's a restaurant hidden inside a little house -- you'll need to ring the doorbell -- serving up dishes like duck confit, pan-fried scallops, and a fish risotto. The latter two come recommended. The chef and his wife are on hand running the operation, so it's got that home feel. If you're looking for French food in an intimate environment, this is a good look.
