China's first outlet belonging to West Coast coffee chain Peet's. They've departed a bit from their earthier US look, going for a smoother, brighter interior design, and a generous patio. There's a wall-garden towards the back and a glassed-off booth where the in-house bakers work. It's like your standard Starbucks sort of place where you can grab a coffee on the go or sit down with one and do some laptop stuff. But, they've also got a "slow bar" which is baristas doing hand brew coffee -- manually preparing siphon, French press, and pour-over coffee drinks. That's pretty interesting because that's a "third wave" coffee thing and it's a "second wave" chain that's doing it. They've also got a counter at the front where customers can check out different types of roasted beans. There's their trademark dark roast, but also a variety of smoother single-origins.
