The back story of this place alone makes this place worth a visit. Late in the Qing Dynasty, a guard in the Forbidden City named Li Shunqing smuggled out recipes from the Empress Dowager's kitchen. The recipes were passed down the Li family for four generations, surviving the fall of the Qing as well as the Communist and Cultural Revolutions. The place is super luxurious and every table is in its own private dining room. And eating like an emperor isn't cheap. Expect to pay close to 1000rmb per person.
