Editor's Description
Recently re-opened, Marrakech now has a simpler menu which provides a limited yet reliably delicious selection of dishes. Try their two fantastic soups and be sure to order more bread and sauce. Cozy, quiet, and romantically lit, this place has the perfect ambiance for dinner dates. Service is quick, unintrusive and friendly. Servings are on the smaller side but make up for size in taste.

I brought some arabic clients here, being one of the few restaurant in Shanghai serving Halal food.
It's true that my guests were surprised by the non-presence of coscous served with the Beef and Lamb Tagine. They ordered (me as well) 2 more side dishes of coscous...telling me how normally you get a ''mountain'' of couscous to go with it.
Inviting those clients I was not following up on the price (at thet time)...but even though the taste was good...to add up 30 kuai for a decent portion of coscous to a 128 kuai tagine is a bit pushing it. Even though the tagine meat portion was generous.
Design wise thought the place is quite charming and enticing and suceed in creating a contemporary yet regional atmosphere that takes us to a Moroccan medinah. Mint tea was good too.
They should follow up on how to serve it in a more authentic way...and not be ''cheap'' on coscous in a country where we a used to the 5kuai white rice side-dish!

I had a wonderful time with my boyfriend at Marrakech a few weeks ago. First we had a dinner with some appetizers and as main course Tangine, this was all delicious! We decided to end our meal with a plate of sweets, mint tea and move to the small room with comfortable couches where a band with music from Congo creates atmosphere. We listened for one hour to almost a private concert, it was a perfect ending of a perfect night. Although the menu has been reduced since the last time I went, I have to say that this restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is more than decent. For sure a place to return!!!
