Since Guandii is closed, this is not a bad replacement. Only downer is the coatcheck line. Estimated 20 minutes wait to check in your coat and another 20 minutes wait to get your jacket, not including the idiots that try to cut the line. What a downer to an awesome night
The more I came to Muse, the more addicted I am.
Muse has a very GREAT service.
All the staffs are so friendly and helpful, especially the one named Jason Zhang.
So in the end, MUSE IS THE BEST CLUB IN SHANGHAI.
Highly recommended
"but beware coz it's also highly addictive"
I went to Muse a lot earlier in the year, before going to Singapore for some time. Now came to Shanghai and went there again two weeks ago. I felt that the place changed a lot, and not necessarily for the better. Wonder if this is a permanent change or if it was just a bad night, or if it is only the "old" Muse from 6-12 month ago when there is a cover charge. Anyone out there who knows more?
I went last friday and definetly will go back! The crowd is a good mix of locals and ex-pats and unpretentious I had a blast! The band, the music and the drinks were great :) Cute girls and hot guys too!!
Muse... I went there a couple of times, Fri & Sat, it's always packed - with locals, overseas Chinese and small amount of Laowai. Right, the Hiphip room got a tiny dancefloor so girls have nowhere to really shake, and stay away from guys who keep "interviewing". The crowd? well, you can expect a mix of Guandier and Babyfacer. Def not the best club in town. At least not yet.
Went to "Muse" several times and each time was stunned by the great house-music in the 1st floor . Besides that you can enjoy well mixed drinks, not as crappy and watery as in other venues. Also the bartenders pulled up a great show using pyro-effects etc.
If you like variety, no problem. Just take a short stair up to the 2nd floor and you can get crazy in the HipHop room.
My advice: Go there!
My favorite club right now. Love the music on saturday, better than on friday. but pity is that there is like no dance floor in the hiphop room, i still dont understand why hiphop is always the smaller room. way too crowded, gets better after 1am.
Muse, one of the better clubs I’ve been too - nice atmosphere, not too pretentious, good sound system, reasonable price etc. The glass screen dividing the two music rooms is genius, giving you the large bar ambiance with a choice of music. I also like it has a bar you can stand/sit around, unlike some clubs where staff make it clear that if you're not sat at a private table or on the way to the bathroom then you shouldn’t be there.
I was in London last week 4 tables and 20 seats in a bar of 400 people, could you imagine such a sociable thing in Shanghai?
Anyway. Muse. Recommended.
