The Hengshan Lu location of the live music bar chain Melting Pot offers a wide array of Chinese and international live music most nights of the week, with the emphasis on keeping the party going. Depending on the night, you could be in for contemporary jazz, blues, R&B, traditional folk, or even open mic and jam sessions. They do Thai food during lunch and dinner hours

Found this place very relaxing. The drink prices are suitable, about 40RMB for a beer, and there's a wide range of drinks to choose from.
The layout is interesting - I like to watch the performance while I drink and there is a whole row of seats there where if you sit you won't get to watch. The screen projection does fix this (it didn't go offline at all while I was there, which was about an an hour anda half) but for me personally it just isn't the same as watching the performance live. Music was brilliant though. We went on a Wednesday quite late and the standard of music was excellent.
Definitely a place worth checking out though - a really good place just to go after work or something to relax and see (or not, depending on where you're sat :D) some quality jazz.

You don't need to a wear a tux to get a get a good kebab - Anadolu's decor is crumbling - but the lamb, hummus and pita are all good quality for cheap. Expect to dine with crowds of slickly-dressed middle easterners most any night of the week.
