Ewald's is an international cafe on the first floor, and Austro-German restaurant on the third floor of the Maxdo Centre in Gubei. Chef is Austrian, though the lunch menu is geared more towards pasta specials. At night, though, Ewald's ramps up the German and Austrian dishes, and throws in some other int'l favorites -- beef carpaccio, cordon bleu. Also has a small list of self-imported Austrian wines and fruit schnapps. Popular with the nearby office and embassy crowds.
