The Hof Wine Bar is a spin-off of popular dessert lounge Hof, on Sinan Lu -- itself a spin-off of Pudong's House of Flour. The Wine Bar takes cues from both, with a simple menu of bistro favorites, a glass display case of their signature desserts (owner Brian Tan is a recovering hotel pastry chef), and a decent wine and cocktail list. Decor is more in line with the handsome marble, leather, and wood romanticism of the Sinan Lu branch, with one major addition: copious outdoor seating in the sunken plaza of the DBS building, with direct views of the nearby Oriental Pearl tower.

I just went here for the first time today. In my years of living in Shanghai, I have probably been to nearly a hundred different restaurants. I must say, Hof Lujiazui had the nicest & friendliest waitstaff I have ever encountered. It was also during lunch time which was quite busy, however, the 3 different fuwuyuan I encountered, all were helpful and maintained a nice smile the whole time. I came with gift certificates (which was a bonus) however they offer a great lunch set! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy a nice and non-frustrating meal.
