The Geisha is the latest venue from Collective Concepts, the company behind the Apartment and the Food Central. Much like its namesake, The Geisha has many 'talents' and houses a California-influenced Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, a boutique club on the second floor, and a sake lounge and rooftop terrace on top.

As a party person I first tried this as a party spot and liked it - cool club, nice DJs, decent drinks. I decided to come and try the restaurant when I saw the set menu offer. And I gotta say, it's a pretty good set menu! Left me absolutely stuffed and it included a drink, all for (just) under 200rmb. Didn't care much about the drink (it was sparkling wine) but the food was good, tasty, fresh and all the rest you expect when eating something raw:)
And the dessert was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Never thought this would be my place to go for desserts...but now it will be. Nothing better than a cake to start the party!

Disappointing. Nice enough decoration, but the atmosphere and service are a real let down, not to mention the food, oh the food – steer very very very clear of the food, if you are a fan of food vaguely resembling Japanese food and definitely resembling the Japanese style food you see on the shelves at your local 24 hour convenience store then you’ll love the food here – on that same note I had a terrible hangover after just a couple of their mixed drinks, maybe safer to buy your alcohol at your local 24 hour convenience store too…

Very nice decor, good concept with a very nice terrace. The service was excellent, which in Shanghai is priceless since most restaurant have offensively horrible service.

I recommend the cocktails, they are very creative and served in good quantity. Try the blue fin tuna appetizers, they are amazing. The makis are good, not much different from Haiku, but then again, the service/decor is better.

One thing: "Sashimi plate: 188/388/588rmb". I think this is very expensive, but at least, you guys should mention what you get for each prices.

Overall, I would go back and I recommend this place. Please keep up the good service and attention to detail, because that helps justify some of your prices right now.

We went for dinner and it really doesn't worth it. It's quite expensive and the menu is first quite understandable and at the end your dish is not as original as you thought. However the club is great. The place is nice, the music is good and above all people are not as superficial as in other club like mint or bar rouge. The style is pretty the same but with a really much better mentality

Unlimited salad bar for 95rmb, 150rmb with a sushi roll. 188rmb for free flow kirin draft and selected sake and sparkling wine. Other a la carte options are available too. Every Sunday afternoon from 12-4pm.

Every day at The Geisha from 5-10.30pm 180rmb gets you unlimited orders of all of the sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls on their menu and free-flow Kirin draft beer to wash it down. Reserve a table for 10 or more and the price becomes 160rmb per person.
