Ah Niang Mian, or Grandma's Noodles, has long been a legendary Shanghai haunt, one of those places people would willingly wait hours for a meal. After its founder passed away in 2009, it closed up shop, but eventually regrouped down the street. The newer incarnation, of course, is not without its detractors, but they still do a solid job and it's just as hard to get a seat, which, in Shanghai speaks volumes of a restaurant's quality.
