So, if you're hankering for hot, spicy vino and palpable Christmas cheer and stuff, here's where to get it:
For those wanting a Christmas market that comes with a side of good-for-the-planet kudos, this "Green" Christmas Market will be selling gifts and festive treats from a range of local and international brands, showcasing the latest trends in plant-based food, and proving playtime with some furry friends while you warble along to classic Christmas tunes. Tickets can be purchased through the QR Code on the poster. Free entrance for kids under 12. Each ticket includes a free Christmas mug and mulled wine.
After being briefly postponed, Shanghai's most wanted injection of Christmas joy is finally *touch wood* happening — now near the Bund not in Jing'an. Excellent excuse to sip Glühwein and scarf down German Noel snacks while shopping for too many handicrafts and gifts you don't have time to send back home. For kids and big kids, Santa will be swinging by on the weekends to check wishes and Christmas lists. There's no entrance fee this year and it carries on till Jan 3, 2021 — a fact bound to please all the Orthodox Christians.
A market for pooches and people this weekend. The BFC gathering will have pop-up pet utility brands and pet adoption (outside will be equipped with heaters), then on Christmas Eve till Dec 27 there will be snow — we're assuming the fake kind? —and a visit from the dude that trades gifts for milk and cookies. Open from 10am to 10pm this weekend, and from 6pm till late Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Last chance to enjoy Paulaner's 2020 Christmas Market this weekend. Entrance is free; mulled wine, pretzels, and Christmas goods available.
The usual Crimbo deal with a family-friendly edge. There will be tree decorating and activities for the kids, plus snacks, hot foods, winter drinks, handcrafts, and photos/gifts with Santa. Entrance is free.
Jiashan's most Christmas-y of all its markets. Gifts, hot beverages, food. Kids and doggies welcome. Should be good craic.
