We've also slinging tickets to the extended run of PunkDrunk's hugely popular theatrical event, Sleep No More, as well as pre-sales to the season's first barrage of massive EDM festivals: Daydream and the Electric Daisy Carnival -- both of those are splashing out for their debut events in China. Bill Bailey is a household name in Britain. He's up there with Winston Churchill, Brain Blessed and The Queen. He's appeared in dozens of films, and shows including Hot Fuzz and Black Books, and on stages around the world, from Hong Kong to New Zealand, doing his disarming hilarious musician bit. Not to harp on a point, but he's kind of a big deal for fans of British comedy. This year, the Larks In Transit Asia Tour 2018 makes a stop off in Shanghai for Bill Bailey's first ever time in China, playing one of the most intimate spaces he's seen in years. Born in 2010, Daydream Festival's a two-day surreal, fantastical, theatrical event bringing three stages to the masses; Main Dream State for EDM and electronic music pioneers, Live Dream for indie pop and mainstream stars, and Bass Dream for the bass house, trap and dubstep devotees. This year, the Belgian festival is transporting their trippy, iconic Main Dream Stage to China for the very first time. April sees eclectic, prolific music festival Electric Daisy Carnival making its China debut in Shanghai's International Music Park. Two days and four themed stages pumping out the full spectrum of that hot, hot EDM. Headliners announced in Phase 1 include Hardwell, Illenium, Martin Garrix and the immortal Deadmau5. With interactive art installations scattered throughout the space, and dancers, stilters, aerialists, circus performers, and other whimsical characters decked out in specially-designed costumes, whole place oozess that otherworldly carnival vibe. Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More is an award-winning theatrical experience that tells Shakespeare’s classic tragedy Macbeth through a darkly cinematic lens. Produced by SMG Live and Punchdrunk International. Audiences move freely through the epic world of the story at their own pace, choosing where to go and what to see, ensuring that everyone’s journey is different and unique. Sleep No More features a cast of 30 performers. The show plays out across three hours in 90 cinematically detailed rooms ranging across the five floors of a vast disused building in the Jing’an district.
