Inspired by the Golden Age of Chinese Cinema, the Shanghai Film Park is a fully-realized recreation of 1930s Shanghai. The park is open daily from 8.30am-4.30pm, and admission is 80rmb for adults and 40rmb for kids. There are entertainment programs, such as a tram tour, props and costumes exhibit, and a stunt show.

See a 30’s recreation of Nanjing Lu in the northwest of the park, complete with old Shanghai’s trams in their classic dark green. The sets here appear the TV series’ "Deep Love and Rain" and "Sparrow", and the movies "Party Founding" and "Kung Fu”.

Apart from falling In the footsteps of stars, a visit to the film park is a way to glimpse a snapshot of Shanghai looked like a century ago. Here, elegant checker board patterns in combination with the blank oblique walls show a style typical in the stately homes of Nanjing Lu.

When you see stage lights, props, or crowds of people gathered together, a film crew isn’t far away. The film park is still used for film and TV sets today.

Looking at the interiors of some sets you could be mistaken for thinking you were in ’30s Paris.

Peek out a window out of an alleyway and view the shops and streets of old Shanghai. The architectural features of the era, blended with the Western culture, resulted in the rise of an alternate form of Chinese residential culture.

The traditional entrance to the yards of Shanghainese housing have evolved drastically throughout the ages. This set offers a taste of authentic forms of Chinese culture with its awnings and couplets.
