ShanghaiPRIDE'S Color-Filled Pub Crawl Is This Saturday

Apr 21, 2016 | 07:16 Thu
Huzzah, a colorful, six-bar, liver-destroying adventure is happening on Saturday night, organized by ShanghaiPRIDE as part of their spring fundraiser. You'll hit up six LGBT-friendly bars, offering drink deals from around 30rmb, that include Roxie, My Place Ruin Bar, Happiness 42, and Lucca, and they'll pour free shots along the way, keeping the wheels lubricated, as it were.

Tickets are 150rmb, all of which is going to ShanghaiPRIDE, which is happening in June.

The crowd is a fun diverse mix of people. According to organizer Ennis F.W., it's usually a 50-50 split between locals and foreigners and a third are straight, although there are more dudes than ladies.

"Here's the thing," says Ennis. "Lesbians don't leave their houses after they've coupled up."

Fair enough, homebody lesbians! You're missing out on a good time!

The theme for this crawl is "colors", so they encourage everyone to dress up in their brightest rainbow gear and have a good time.

"It's a good way to meet people that you don't normally do [and] a good opportunity to strike up a conversation or maybe hit on someone depending on how late it is in the night."

Stop, stop. You had us at "good way to meet people".

The pub crawl beings at 8.30pm from 537 Haifang Road, near Xikang Road.
