4 for the Big Night, October 28

Their craziest party of the year, the SHFT trap massive hosts in a full dance card of hip hop, trap, and bass artists in a massive warehouse throw-down. They’re fighting off evil cyborg robots with extreme bass music in a 3000-person warehouse with two rooms, two stages, and a massive international and local line up of over 16 artists. Makes me shudder just thinking about it. Headliner is deep bass tactician Caked Up, joined by Y2K, Al Rocco, and more. Gonna get "liiiiit". I barely know what that means. It's like gnarly right? Headlining the show will be "king of the youth and pioneer in millennial culture", Young Lean, a sleepy Scandinavian-looking kid who does that trap music. They tell me thus: "he's released independent album “Warlord”, featured on Frank Ocean´s “Blonde”, starred in Calvin Klein´s #mycalvins campaign, launched his own Sadboys Gear brand, co-designed a sneaker for Eytys and dropped a full length punk album together with GUD as Död Mark alongside “The Rap of China”. Need we say more. Join Dragon Adventures and the Bearded Bear (AKA that Foste dude) as they tear up Halloween with a hair-raising rave on the river. Their DJs -- I smell Sacco -- will "keep the boat floating with fresh jams on the decks as they take in an unforgettable view of the haunted Huangpu from a three-story yacht complete with roof deck and captain’s quarters." You seen those big boats sliding up and down the Huangpu? It's one of those. Beer, mixed drinks, and sangria will be available. Ticket purchase includes one free drink. Prepare to be shocked and amazed as a portal to a world of shadows, nightmares and your darkest desires opens up. Feast your eyes to their devilish delight on ghosts, ghouls, and other ghastly creatures as they take over the stage with jaw-dropping cirque acts and hauntingly spooky cabaret performances that will leave you breathless at the edge of your seat and sanity… if you dare. And Also...the Not-Halloween Stuff

If Halloween isn't your thing -- or maybe it is but also big Bavarian celebrations are also your thing, we've got a quality Oktoberfest celebration right here. The makers of the Jingan Oktoberfest in 2016 are back with an even bigger tribute to all things Bavarian. The Franziskaner Shanghai Oktoberfest will be hosted on three days from October 26 to October 28, within a big festival tent near the Bund (next to the Peninsula Hotel). For the occasion they are flying in an Oktoberfest band straight from Munich.
