Saigon Soul Revival (VIET), Peach Illusion

Today @ Yuyintown Cube
Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Soul Revival is on a mission to bring back the raw, live sound of 1960s and 70s Vietnamese rock and soul music. Sweet grooves that blend rock, soul, jazz, Vietnamese ballads, and traditional instrumentation, covering a ‘whole gamut of sounds that were popular during the Golden Era, from raw, heavy funk and psychedelia to slower, emotional ballads’. Vibrant, electric stuff that should make for a blast of a show. Support from Shanghai indie pop stalwarts Peach Illusion.

Tiny Time, 1000 Failures, whydid, Burley Quay

Tomorrow @ Mosh Space Live House
A tribute and mashup of Manchester and Yangpu - two places that have birthed many young riotous acts - the Yanchester series returns to its roots tonight over at Mosh Space. Perhaps the most brazen and riotous of them all, Britpop favorites Burley Quay, born in self-proclaimed Yanchester, lead some truly delightful bands, including emo pop-punk outfit Tiny Times, freshly minted three-piece whydid (who fall somewhere between the evocative sounds of Friko and Yuck), and 1000 Failures, known for evoking some of the pop rock and emo scene’s best. Sounds like my kind of party.
Prune Deer

Prune Deer

Sat, Oct 17, 2026 @ Yuyintown Cube
Instrumental rock heavyweights Prune Deer, who hail from Hong Kong, have been one of the leading figures down south. Known for their ‘unique mix of melodic guitar interplay, weaving intricate bass parts and the kind of tight, start-stop drums’, the band has plenty to give in their arsenal, leaning into their hazy ambience and math rock chops wherever they see fit.

Sun, Oct 18, 2026 @ Yuyintown
Stargazers, emo, noise rock, synth pop, and instrumental rock lovers converge on Yuyintown as the venue hosts their seasonal music festival, with bands utilizing both venues in C-Park. A delectable spread of bands with a knack for crafting stirring arrangements and angst-ridden jams, the lineup includes Suzhou’s mathy instrumental rockers Tengguang Agency, evocative indie soothsayers Nerve Passenger, spry noise pop hitmakers Autistic Radio, lean hard-hitting instrumental rockers no channel, but…, Hangzhou synth pop act Boarding Gate, and fellow synth pop outfit A Journey into Fantasy. A perfect opportunity to plug yourself into the local scene and see what’s up.

AMENRA (Belgium), Harakiri for the sky (Austria)

Sun, Oct 18, 2026 @ VAS ear
Promoters New Noise is packing some heat this weekend with a hard-hitting double bill! Amenra, a Belgian extreme metal band that's as experimental and atmosphere-driven as it is impossibly heavy, brings their visceral, cathartic, and versatile sound rooted in doom, sludge, post-metal, and hardcore punk. Joining them are Harakiri for the sky - a post-metal duo from Austria who combine heavy, melodic riffage with punishing vocals - as reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine as they are of Gorgoroth. Heavyyy shit.

Sun, Oct 18, 2026 @ Coven by Cave
Rising Singapore songwriter, producer, and artist Shye showcases her dreamy slate of songs that blends her signature blend of wistful melodies, layered guitars, and deeply personal songwriting. For those digging the resurgence of dream-pop, alternative rock, and shoegaze across the globe (think Wisp), Shye may well be worth the hype - melancholic, bittersweet, and both intimate and expansive - balancing its moments of softness and vulnerability with larger waves of distortion and atmosphere. Support from emerging Chengdu shoegaze noise rock act Cigar Shoujo.

Promoted business.
